The Arkansas based semi-retired real-estate gurus have decided to move at a different pace living fulltime aboard their year old yacht. And trust us, you learn a lot your first year! Kevin and Elizabeth King have been close their entire lives. They were pre-school friends, high school and college sweethearts, and partners in a successful real estate business. So, it’s no surprise they have entered the next phase of life standing side-by-side in the cockpit of a Leopard 50 as full-time cruisers.
"We started the search going to a lot of boat shows, just as many as we could, and once we stepped on the Leopard and we saw the forward cockpit we really liked it. And Leopard just started ticking some boxes for us. We really wanted to be able to have four cabins, but we also wanted an owners suite as well. I remember waking up one morning when Leopard teased the Leopard 50 on their Facebook page and I saw it and thought 'I just found the boat'." - Elizabeth King
In addition to the living the sailing lifestyle and making new friends far and wide, the King's have loved diving into passage planning and basing it around weather and wind. They have enjoyed learning how to use the various weather and cruising apps, and they dish their favorites during the broadcast. They also provide some insight on staying connected at sea, what gear they can't live without, they share their list of boat spares, how they stay on top of maintenance, and their top aftermarket upgrades for interior and exterior. They also reveal how they got into sailing in the first place, how Kevin obtained his captains license and they share what they would do differently if they could do it a second time around.
